I have been lucky enough to receive permission to practice regularly at one of Japan's elite kendo institutions. Through my Sempai and his Sensei I will now be able to boost my preparation for the World Kendo Championship 2015 in Japan by joining the pratice at Nippon Sports Science University, Nittaidai in Japanese.

After the break I will introduce the regular practice program and hopefully the following will give you an insight into how kendo is practiced at elite kendo schools, and what it is that sets it apart from other dojo in Japan and elsewhere.

Coming up in November is the 60th All Japan Kendo Championships, the event will be held as usual at the Nippon Budokan.

I'll be able to attend this year so will be bringing my camera (or borrowing one...) and doing my best to give an account of the action as it happens, and with a review of the event afterwards. If If I can get a decent camera I'll be able to get some good photos and maybe a video or two!

I hope to meet some people from Kamisu and around Japan there too so it should a nice day for photos and catching up, as well as a day of enjoying Japan's best kendo!
